Trial Proves Prop 8 is Discriminatory and Violates the 14th Amendment

To bad they blocked the taping of the trial.  I would have liked to see the pro-hate peoples excuses for prop 8.  Actually, they’re all the same excuses to target OTHER people they don’t like for religious fundamental reasons, but with a twist, so it doesn’t “appear” to be so hateful.  The bible is NOT “black and white” as some would have you to believe.  Many words in the English language don’t mean the same in various types of conversations.  In English we can use the word love as an example.  In English Love is used to mean all sorts of examples, but in old Greek there are different words when referring to various types of loving situations.   However, those new age bibles coming out these day’s have translations where they replaced words to help them with their bigotry, such as the word “homosexual” which didn’t even come to being until the 19th century.

The bible doesn’t condemn homosexual people, that is people who lack the desire for those of the opposite sex, or natural Eunuchs of it’s day.  Fundamentalist Christian’s like to use verses to target “homosexuals,” but the verses aren’t even talking about Homosexual or Gay people, it’s talking about Heterosexual men who take on passive roles when they play around, and in those day’s sex between two men was not a problem, the problem was when a heterosexual man who should have a wife play’s around with other men and takes a passive role.  It’s like prostitution, the bible doesn’t condemn prostitution, it only condemns the prostitution in temples, which targeted Pagans, or people of other faith’s.  The alleged “Sodom and Gomorrah” case isn’t even about Gay people, it’s about heterosexual rape on heterosexual men, not consenting sex between two people. It’s like when a prison inmate who is heterosexual rapes another inmate [common practice], and it was this that was condemned, not the Eunuch’s.

Why do these Christian’s put so much focus in hating the Gay Community when the bible condemns adultery, infidelity, children who curse their parents, liars, thieves, killers and the list goes on.  It would seem to me that the Church should be focusing on their own in-house issues of adultery and fornication which is rampant within their own church.  The same alleged verses used to condemn Gay people to death according to those Christian’s also condemns the adulterer and fornicator to death!

Clean your own house!

294 Pages To Equality « Prop 8 Trial Tracker

The AFER legal team has filed their summary of the Prop 8 trial. All 294 pages of it. Officially titled the Plaintiffs’ Proposed Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, the document lays out what the plaintiff’s believe they have proved and the findings that they believe are in order. Here’s the gist:

The trial proved that:

* Prop. 8 does irreparable harm to Americans
* Marriage has shed discriminatory restrictions over time
* Gay men and lesbians are entitled to the full protection of the 14th Amendment
* There is no good reason for Prop. 8’s denial of fundamental civil rights

Much of this information was laid out at the final courthouse press conference at the end of January. If you didn’t get a chance to see that, it is at the bottom of this post. [continued]

WWII Veteran Speaks for Gay Marriage

As a veteran I agree!  I during my time serving I know I served for Freedom, Justice and Equality for all people.  My service time didn’t excent to and conflict, but non the less I volunteered because I’m a patriot who believes in what the Statue of Liberty and the Constitution of the United States represent, and that includes the Gay community who deserve the same equal rights as any other American citizen.

My father also joined the military during WWII all while his brothers, sisters, and father were taken to concentration camps in northern California.  He faught in battles on the French Italian boarder helping our allies keep the Nazi’s at out of these countries for the cause of Freedom, Justice and  Equality for all.  His unit battalion the 442nd became the most decorated unit of all time, and he had to come home to see discrimination pushed on people by the likes or religious fanatic dogma emposing their religiuos laws on the rest of American society.

Keep your religious laws to you own community!  Civil laws belong to the greater people, and they are not their for  you to divide the country up piece by piece just because you may not like a specific group of people like the LGBT community and their friends.

We’ll probably have to start the draft because those same people who live in freed because of Our Soldiers and Veterans do not service to help fight for freedom and justice for all, but they take advantage to what our soldiers have done, and are doing right now.

Draft those conservatives children, and send them off to these wars, so they to will know what democracy is.

Philip Spooner VIDEO: WWII Veteran Makes Case For Gay Marriage

Philip Spooner is a lifetime Republican, World War II veteran and, to everyone’s surprise, a gay marriage supporter. The 86-year-old gave a heartfelt speech in support of gay marriage to Maine’s Judiciary Committee back in April, and the video has just now become an internet hit.

Spooner’s voice wavers often as he weaves his own life story into the speech, using his experience as a soldier as his main defense for gay marriage. He lists his accomplishments in the war, among them serving in Patton’s Third Army and carrying POWs back home, making it clear that he’s a true American — and according to Spooner, there’s nothing more American than fighting for equality. Come Out! Come Out, where ever you are!!!

For every action there is a reaction!  Come Out!  Come Out, where ever you are!!!

I don’t see how the Judges could see any equality in their decision, but unfortunately it’s already done, and we must move forward remembering what and who brought us here!  I think this is a BIG wake up call, and every can see it.  I think the root cause is very obvious.

Gavin Newsom: The Road from Here to Marriage Equality

Today we must turn anger into action.

It’s cold comfort to many that history is moving in the right direction, with five states already on their way to marriage equality. But it’s our job to make sure history moves faster towards equality here in California.

We must redouble our efforts in California to finally win this fight for equal rights. Please, take a moment today and lend your voice to this just cause.

Sign our petition for marriage equality.

Join the tireless efforts of the Courage Campaign and Equality California.

Let’s be respectful. But let’s be clear. We must start changing minds today. I know many of my fellow Californians may initially agree with this ruling, but I ask them to reserve final judgment until they have discussed this decision with someone who will be affected by it. [read more]

Are Topless Photos Biblically Correct …

Oh!  OMG!  Praise the Lord!

She’s trashing others because she alleges Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her Christian belief.  Yet, I know for a fact that posing in pornography is defiantly against Christian tradition.  The bible tells me that a women should be fully covered.

Don’t get me wrong, Carrie Prejean can do all the pornography she wants, we don’t really care and we shouldn’t [it’s her life], however preaching to us Californian’s and the rest of America that Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her “traditional” Christian practice and that it shouldn’t be allowed for Same-Sex Couples is hypocritical.

Don’t trash people when you need to take your own trash out the door!  That’s the way it is.  Respect others and you will be respected, but trashing others, hay, Karma’s a Bitch!

This is just a thought to ponder [thanks to those who use religion to attack others], I’m not saying get rid of religion. I’ve had hate comments just for having this t-shirt, and I’m sure I’ll have more! I believe in freedom of religion, but those religions need to repsect other religions, you know who you are.  These people attacking other’s by calling them various names and devil worshipers or Pagan’s [as if that is wrong] or attacking other people outside their circle, like Carrie Prejean has done is wrong!  So, this is why we have this though to ponder; imagine no religion.  Your religion belongs to you and your inner circle, it doesn’t belong to the rest of us, so people need to keep it in their inner circle.  Those religions should stop attacking other people!

Why do these religious people resort to lies?

TV ads are spreading lies again!

I’m amazed how these religious people can lie without blinking an eye!

People don’t listen to these TV ads that manipulate you into voting against a just cause.  Treating people equally is the right thing to do, irregardless of some fanatical dogma.
Alleged claims that sex education is being pushed on kindergartners is wrong, hello!  Why in the world would anyone believe that.   Also, what is going around is that if Same Sex Civil Marriage passes in other states they will be forced to educate kids in school on same sex education.  More lies!

FALSE!  That has never happened!  When I was in school we were not even told anything about opposite sex civil marriages!  It’s not up to the schools to talk to children about that, it’s up to the parents because each house hold has different customs on civil marriage practices or religious marriage practices.  The California Board of Education has already stated that.  It’s never been done before why educate kids on marriage now?

How does a word like Equality spread aids?  How can these people be so good at lying to people, and people fall for that bull?

Church’s won’t loose “First Amendment Rights” as we know it to be, this is America and every one has First Amendment Rights, Just like every one has the right to be treated Equally!  That to is a constitutional right, and a civil right to a civil marriage license.  What church’s do in their own church practice is their business, and they should keep it in their own inner circle of practitioners, that is your right.

You don’t have a right to force your religion on the rest of society because we all practice other faiths.  It’s called Freedom of Religious Practice!

If you have the time and resources Mass Equality needs your help to stop these lies! || Home

California TV ads claim Massachusetts forces gay sex education on kindergartners

Hawaii state senators were told equality is spreading AIDS

Radio ads in Iowa are saying Massachusetts churches have lost First Amendment rights

All lies , of course–but voters and lawmakers in other states don’t know that. Only we can set the record straight. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do, starting now. [help]

Joyous Occassion for Maine Citizens

That is so beautiful!

What a joyous occasion those Main citizen must feel, right now!  I’m so happy for them.  Now they can get their personal finances and securities settle in a proper civil manner.

Maine Gay Marriage Legalized

Maine Governor John Baldacci signed Wednesday into law a bill legalizing gay marriage in the state. The move makes Maine the fifth state to allow gay marriage.

The press release:

Governor John E. Baldacci today signed into law LD 1020, An Act to End Discrimination in Civil Marriage and Affirm Religious Freedom.

“I have followed closely the debate on this issue. I have listened to both sides, as they have presented their arguments during the public hearing and on the floor of the Maine Senate and the House of Representatives. I have read many of the notes and letters sent to my office, and I have weighed my decision carefully,” Governor Baldacci said. “I did not come to this decision lightly or in haste.”

“I appreciate the tone brought to this debate by both sides of the issue,” Governor Baldacci said. “This is an emotional issue that touches deeply many of our most important ideals and traditions. There are good, earnest and honest people on both sides of the question.”

“In the past, I opposed gay marriage while supporting the idea of civil unions,” Governor Baldacci said. “I have come to believe that this is a question of fairness and of equal protection under the law, and that a civil union is not equal to civil marriage.” [read more]

Civil marriage is a personal matter between two individuals

That’s because it’s not really anyone else’s business.  Civil marriage is a personal matter between two individuals, and their family.  These social conservatives as usual want to force their dogmatic views on you and me, and according to their bible they are willing to kill for it.  They’ve been acting like that through out history, and people are beginning to pluck the thorn from their eyes!  People are seeing that religious marriage is not the same as civil marriage.  Civil marriage is in the eyes of civil law that protects every citizen equally, and religious marriage is between those people and their religion, and we all know that every religion has differing beliefs.  It’s one thing to say you have “religious liberty”, but it’s another thing when you force your religious beliefs on free American’s!  These alleged “social conservatives” or extremists wishing to force their religion on the rest of society is just extremism, and we ended up in Iraq because of alleged extremism.  When I say extremism, I’m referring to those who wish to disrupt other peoples happiness and joy by forcing their religious views on other’s who are not part of that view.

Opportunity as gay marriage acceptance grows

Gay marriage legalization in several states and the public’s growing acceptance of same-sex unions have Democrats sensing political opportunity and some Republicans re-evaluating their party’s hard-line opposition to an issue that long has rallied its base.

In recent weeks, Vermont and Iowa have legalized same-sex marriage, while New York, Maine and New Hampshire have taken steps in that direction. Polls show younger Americans are far are more tolerant on the issue than are older generations. For now at least, the public is much more focused on the troubled economy and two wars than on social issues.

In addition, over the past decade, public acceptance of gay marriage has changed dramatically.

A Quinnipiac University poll released last week found that a majority of people questioned, by a 55-38 percent margin, oppose gay marriage. But it also found that people, by a 57-38 percent margin, support civil unions that would provide marriage-like rights for same-sex couples, indicating a shift toward more acceptance.

With congressional elections next year, Republicans, Democrats and nonpartisan analysts say the changes benefit Democrats, whose bedrock liberals favor gay unions, and disadvantage Republicans, whose conservative base insists that marriage be solely between a man and a woman.

“This is not a sea change. This is a tide that is slowly rising in favor of gay marriage,” creating a favorable political situation for Democrats and ever-more difficulty for Republicans, said David McCuan, a political scientist at Sonoma State University in California. [read more]

“Don’t step on anyone’s joy!” Something the opposing party should learn!

This is such joyous news!  Those families must be very happy because civil marriage affects that family unit, not yours!

If religion would just keep their religious marriages to their particular congregations, we wouldn’t be having this problem with our civil marriages laws, which BTW affect every ones financial planning.

Excuses, they put out, like it being taught in school are bogus lies!  When I went to school I was never taught anything about any marriage, neither “straight” or Gay!  Those are issues that are private and between the couple, and their families and friends.  It should be a joyous occasion for those families, so lets just keep it that way.

When I was in nursing school an instructor said, “Don’t step on anyone’s joy!”  That is something people should think about, and I think they have a lot to learn about love and respect for other people, and what lover really is, NOT some kind of shallowness taught out of dogma.

Vote caps decade-long gay marriage fight in Conn.

A decade-long battle for marriage equality in Connecticut ended when the General Assembly voted to update the state’s marriage laws to conform with a landmark court ruling allowing gay and lesbian couples to tie the knot.

“It feels so good. It really does feel like the book is closing,” said Anne Stanback, president of Love Makes a Family, a gay-rights group that has led the fight for same-sex marriage in the state.

A spokesman for Gov. M. Jodi Rell said she will sign the bill, which passed 28-7 in the Senate and 100-44 in the House of Representatives late Wednesday, into law. While Rell, a Republican, signed the state’s 2005 civil unions law, she has said she believes that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

The bill comes six months after the State Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that same-sex couples have the right to wed in Connecticut, rather than accept the civil union law designed to give them the same rights as married couples. [read more]

Gay marriage supporters watch historic vote in Vt

Love is an amazing thing, to bad those Prop 8 people don’t have any because all I hear from them are nothing but lies, lies and more lies!  Religion for me right now, seems to be a big turn off!  It’s amazing how those social conservatives can turn something like love into hate and poison!

Don’t forget to support Iowa because they are now being attacked by religious edicts!  Fanatics continue to tell lies about Gay Marriage, and Civil Marriage, tell them to keep their religious laws and religious marriages in their own house!

Gay marriage supporters watch historic vote in Vt

A sign planted outside the Vermont capitol read, “Let Love Win.” For gays and lesbians seeking the right to marry, it did.

The state House on Tuesday narrowly achieved the votes necessary to override Gov. Jim Douglas’ veto of a bill that allowing gays and lesbians to marry beginning Sept. 1.

The vote unleashed cheers and whistles from the ban’s opponents and capped a bitter battle that revisited the pain and division preceding Vermont’s first-in-the-nation civil unions law nine years ago.

“We’ve shown that truth and fairness and justice and love are more powerful than one man’s veto pen,” said Beth Robinson, chairwoman of the Vermont Freedom to Marry Task Force.

With the 100-49 vote, Vermont became the fourth state to legalize gay marriage and the first to do so with a legislature’s vote. The override passed the House by the slimmest possible margin – it needed 100 votes.

Robinson sat in the packed House chamber, keeping a tally as lawmakers called out “yes” or “no.” When the last vote was recorded, she took off her glasses and wiped away tears.

Imagine No Religion with a Peace symbol. Religion seems to have a lot of blood and killing connected to it’s book. The bible even authorizes it’s followers to kill. Imagine that…
