Trial Proves Prop 8 is Discriminatory and Violates the 14th Amendment

To bad they blocked the taping of the trial.  I would have liked to see the pro-hate peoples excuses for prop 8.  Actually, they’re all the same excuses to target OTHER people they don’t like for religious fundamental reasons, but with a twist, so it doesn’t “appear” to be so hateful.  The bible is NOT “black and white” as some would have you to believe.  Many words in the English language don’t mean the same in various types of conversations.  In English we can use the word love as an example.  In English Love is used to mean all sorts of examples, but in old Greek there are different words when referring to various types of loving situations.   However, those new age bibles coming out these day’s have translations where they replaced words to help them with their bigotry, such as the word “homosexual” which didn’t even come to being until the 19th century.

The bible doesn’t condemn homosexual people, that is people who lack the desire for those of the opposite sex, or natural Eunuchs of it’s day.  Fundamentalist Christian’s like to use verses to target “homosexuals,” but the verses aren’t even talking about Homosexual or Gay people, it’s talking about Heterosexual men who take on passive roles when they play around, and in those day’s sex between two men was not a problem, the problem was when a heterosexual man who should have a wife play’s around with other men and takes a passive role.  It’s like prostitution, the bible doesn’t condemn prostitution, it only condemns the prostitution in temples, which targeted Pagans, or people of other faith’s.  The alleged “Sodom and Gomorrah” case isn’t even about Gay people, it’s about heterosexual rape on heterosexual men, not consenting sex between two people. It’s like when a prison inmate who is heterosexual rapes another inmate [common practice], and it was this that was condemned, not the Eunuch’s.

Why do these Christian’s put so much focus in hating the Gay Community when the bible condemns adultery, infidelity, children who curse their parents, liars, thieves, killers and the list goes on.  It would seem to me that the Church should be focusing on their own in-house issues of adultery and fornication which is rampant within their own church.  The same alleged verses used to condemn Gay people to death according to those Christian’s also condemns the adulterer and fornicator to death!

Clean your own house!

294 Pages To Equality « Prop 8 Trial Tracker

The AFER legal team has filed their summary of the Prop 8 trial. All 294 pages of it. Officially titled the Plaintiffs’ Proposed Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law, the document lays out what the plaintiff’s believe they have proved and the findings that they believe are in order. Here’s the gist:

The trial proved that:

* Prop. 8 does irreparable harm to Americans
* Marriage has shed discriminatory restrictions over time
* Gay men and lesbians are entitled to the full protection of the 14th Amendment
* There is no good reason for Prop. 8’s denial of fundamental civil rights

Much of this information was laid out at the final courthouse press conference at the end of January. If you didn’t get a chance to see that, it is at the bottom of this post. [continued]

After Maine Gay Marriage Inaction, Bloggers Call for Boycott of DNC

Time to stand up and fight back people!  Wake  up!  Especially you gay people do may not want to get married at least fight for those of us who do!  We’re in this together, one fight doesn’t out weight another!  We must stand up and fight back!

Remember your history, or at least learn something of it!  The church did not invent civil marriage, it’s an inherited Pagan practice of civil law of which all citizens should be treated equally!  Time to stop the church form imposing religious rule.

They allege Gay Marriage is immoral, yet they disregard all their divorces which is a definitely immoral.  Gay Marriage is about love, and love is not immoral!

After Maine Gay Marriage Inaction, Bloggers Call for Boycott of DNC

John Aravosis and Joe Subday of AMERICAblog, two bloggers who frequently cover gay rights issues, have announced that they and a handful of other gay activists and liberal bloggers are organizing a boycott of the Democratic National Committee and Organizing for America (what has become of Obama’s campaign apparatus, now led by the DNC) until President Obama puts his political weight behind moving their key issues through Congress–namely, repeals of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the Defense of Marriage Act, and passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. Keep Religion or Religious Views Out of Politics and Propositions Put Out for Votes!

I’m so glad that more people are seeing the truth and talking about it!

I’ve been saying people use the bible to attack gay’s for the past fifteen years, and it’s why religion should stay out of politics in America!  These Christian’s are not respecting our common understanding of “separation of church and state,” and many of them are trying to change our laws and our constitutions to favor their misinterpreted religious beliefs or in this day the New Age Bibles that are rewritten with words that didn’t even exists or have the same meaning during the time the bible was written in classical Greek or Aramaic.

It’s happened in California, first with fear tactics to get enough votes for Prop 8, and who knows how many lies the Mormons told the people on the other side of the phone during their phone banking the Mormon Fatwa.

Many have said that the 2008 Olympics in Beijing were China’s coming out party to the world. I wanted to let you know about China’s real coming out party. This posting about China’s June gay pride parade in Shanghai is not meant to insult the Chinese nation or anyone else, it is actually meant to praise China for the advancement of social liberty and freedom seen this year in Shanghai. Although many out there can argue whether or not the existence of a LBGT (Lesbian Bisexual Gay Transgender) community in China is advancement, no one can argue with the fact that a community such as this receiving greater freedom and tolerance is a sign of the Chinese government loosening control over individual rights. I would like to put aside the issue of homosexuality itself for the moment and focus on the fight for homosexual rights as one among many fights for individual rights, which can be seen as a clear indicator of a nation’s progressiveness. This couldn’t be truer than in Shanghai this year, where they had a successful gay pride parade without even having an actual parade. Organizers are hoping to have a successful gay pride non-parade in Beijing in 2010. For those who think this is an underground event the government doesn’t really know about, they can find details of this year’s gay pride event in China’s state run media outlets. We can see here that the stories on Shanghai’s gay pride event in China’s controlled media are a show of pride by China itself.

[Read more; good read about China’s coming out, though, I hope they wake up about other issues]

Stop Defending DOMA!

I couldn’t believe he’s supporting DOMA, or at least his attorney is pushing in support of it.

I find it ironic that people who are against alleged “socialism” would support DOMA because it excludes the Gay Population.  Sounds like typical bigotry to me.  If you don’t like Social Security then you should be fighting against that, not supporting DOMA!

Since we have this social security system, then all American’s should benefit from it otherwise get rid of it completely.

Gay people pay taxes, and they don’t get any breaks on it with their own family’s because they happen to be Gay.  Why should Gay people subsidize all these other peoples civil marriages, yet can’t have one themselves?

Civil marriage is about property rights and heirs, it’s not about some religious dogma, so get over it!

Tell Obama and Holder: Stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

Tell Obama and Holder: Stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

They compared same-sex marriage to a marriage between an uncle and a niece. Or between two children.

No, we’re not talking about Rick Santorum. We’re talking about the Obama administration’s Justice Department. The brief the DOJ presented defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in federal court was not just wrong. It was offensive. The New York Times called it “disturbing” in its lead editorial.

Rachel Maddow and Howard Dean discussed the issue on MSNBC on June 15. Take a look: [sign the petition]

Are Topless Photos Biblically Correct …

Oh!  OMG!  Praise the Lord!

She’s trashing others because she alleges Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her Christian belief.  Yet, I know for a fact that posing in pornography is defiantly against Christian tradition.  The bible tells me that a women should be fully covered.

Don’t get me wrong, Carrie Prejean can do all the pornography she wants, we don’t really care and we shouldn’t [it’s her life], however preaching to us Californian’s and the rest of America that Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her “traditional” Christian practice and that it shouldn’t be allowed for Same-Sex Couples is hypocritical.

Don’t trash people when you need to take your own trash out the door!  That’s the way it is.  Respect others and you will be respected, but trashing others, hay, Karma’s a Bitch!

Miss California Topless — Oops, She Did It Again |

Carrie Prejean must have a really, really bad memory — because TMZ uncovered a brand new set of topless photos “biblically correct” Miss California took before she applied for the crown. [read more]

This is just a thought to ponder [thanks to those who use religion to attack others], I’m not saying get rid of religion. I’ve had hate comments just for having this t-shirt, and I’m sure I’ll have more! I believe in freedom of religion, but those religions need to repsect other religions, you know who you are.  These people attacking other’s by calling them various names and devil worshipers or Pagan’s [as if that is wrong] or attacking other people outside their circle, like Carrie Prejean has done is wrong!  So, this is why we have this though to ponder; imagine no religion.  Your religion belongs to you and your inner circle, it doesn’t belong to the rest of us, so people need to keep it in their inner circle.  Those religions should stop attacking other people!

Civil marriage is a personal matter between two individuals

That’s because it’s not really anyone else’s business.  Civil marriage is a personal matter between two individuals, and their family.  These social conservatives as usual want to force their dogmatic views on you and me, and according to their bible they are willing to kill for it.  They’ve been acting like that through out history, and people are beginning to pluck the thorn from their eyes!  People are seeing that religious marriage is not the same as civil marriage.  Civil marriage is in the eyes of civil law that protects every citizen equally, and religious marriage is between those people and their religion, and we all know that every religion has differing beliefs.  It’s one thing to say you have “religious liberty”, but it’s another thing when you force your religious beliefs on free American’s!  These alleged “social conservatives” or extremists wishing to force their religion on the rest of society is just extremism, and we ended up in Iraq because of alleged extremism.  When I say extremism, I’m referring to those who wish to disrupt other peoples happiness and joy by forcing their religious views on other’s who are not part of that view.

Opportunity as gay marriage acceptance grows

Gay marriage legalization in several states and the public’s growing acceptance of same-sex unions have Democrats sensing political opportunity and some Republicans re-evaluating their party’s hard-line opposition to an issue that long has rallied its base.

In recent weeks, Vermont and Iowa have legalized same-sex marriage, while New York, Maine and New Hampshire have taken steps in that direction. Polls show younger Americans are far are more tolerant on the issue than are older generations. For now at least, the public is much more focused on the troubled economy and two wars than on social issues.

In addition, over the past decade, public acceptance of gay marriage has changed dramatically.

A Quinnipiac University poll released last week found that a majority of people questioned, by a 55-38 percent margin, oppose gay marriage. But it also found that people, by a 57-38 percent margin, support civil unions that would provide marriage-like rights for same-sex couples, indicating a shift toward more acceptance.

With congressional elections next year, Republicans, Democrats and nonpartisan analysts say the changes benefit Democrats, whose bedrock liberals favor gay unions, and disadvantage Republicans, whose conservative base insists that marriage be solely between a man and a woman.

“This is not a sea change. This is a tide that is slowly rising in favor of gay marriage,” creating a favorable political situation for Democrats and ever-more difficulty for Republicans, said David McCuan, a political scientist at Sonoma State University in California. [read more]

Take Action: Don’t let the religious right drown out the voices for equality

It’s about time some one did an article on biblical myths!

I know about lies the church uses to gain converts and donations. The uneducated usually fall for the myths because they trust their preachers, and other ministers; they trust what they say without analyzing the biblical scripture for themselves. I haven’t seen the article, but I’m re-leaved that some one else has come out about the bull lies toward same-sex love. They terrorize the Gay community all while ignoring their own indiscretions of adultery, fornication, lies, stealing and inhospitality toward others.

Educate yourself people; stop the extremists from vilifying the same-sex love in our communities.

Take Action: Don’t let the religious right drown out the voices for equality
Author of Newsweek’s recent cover story, Lisa Miller, talked to us yesterday about the religious right’s reaction to her article debunking popular myths about the Bible’s stance on marriage.

Hear what Lisa had to say and then send a letter to Newsweek. Let them know that you and millions of others support their story and that the religious right can’t drown us out

Poll: Calif. gay marriage ban driven by religion

People less educated, on a lower income level and Christian are the main supporters of Prop 8. The majorities are “Christian” or those that follow the various sects of the Abrahamic followings like Evangelicals, Catholics, and Mormons were the largest supporters. I suppose there reasoning is the Adam and Eve myth stories “borrowed” from Sumerian mythology. In any case it’s Christianity being pushed on the rest of us, who don’t practice those myth stories. Prop 8 is not religious liberty; in fact, it violates religious liberty because many other churches aside from those listed above grant marriages to their parishioners who are in a same-sex relationship. It not only violates religious liberty, it violates the freedom for those who do not follow those Christian beliefs. It’s not about morality, to many other people, accept to those particular sects of Christian’s, not others.

I think these religions need to layoff, and stop pushing their dogma on other faiths or those who are not in any particular faith and don’t believe in dogma at all.

We live in America, not some theocratic country. Prop 8 passing is a very disturbing trend because we are in a war fighting religious fanatics, yet we have religious fanatics pushing their crap on the rest of us American who believe strongly in Separation of Church and State, not to mention religious liberties. Without Separation of Church and State, we have no religious liberty. Radical Christians allege there is no such thing as Separation of Church and State, and they are largely radicals who wish to exert their religious dogma on society, yet separation has been common law for generations; they choose not to honor that. We can then start banning any book that is considered blasphemous to the word of their god.

Poll: Calif. gay marriage ban driven by religion [read more]
Voters’ economic status and religious convictions played a greater role than race and age in determining whether they supported the Nov. 4 ballot measure outlawing same-sex marriage in California, a new poll shows.

The ban drew its strongest support from both evangelical Christians and voters who didn’t attend college, according to results released Wednesday by the Public Policy Institute of California.

Age and race, meanwhile, were not as strong factors as assumed. According to the poll, 56 percent of voters over age 55 and 57 percent of nonwhite voters cast a yes ballot for the gay marriage ban.

People who identified themselves as practicing Christians were highly likely to support the constitutional amendment, with 85 percent of evangelical Christians, 66 percent of Protestants and 60 percent of Roman Catholics favoring it.

The poll also showed that the measure got strong backing from voters who did not attend college (69 percent), voters who earned less than $40,000 a year (63 percent) and Latinos (61 percent).
