Protect Civil Marriage

Let’s Keep Your Church Laws OFF OUR Constitution and Civil Laws!

AMA Opposes “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

Why doesn’t alleged “Focus on the Family” focus on their own family and divorce!  They act like they own civil law!  Religion didn’t invent marriage, it’s a practice of civil law created by the Pagan people, not Christianity, Not Mormonism, and NOT Catholicism!  If they are so concerned about their religious Marriages, then they should take a better look at their HIGH RATE OF DIVORCE!

People should also understand that Civil Marriage is not Religious Marriage.  Religious institutions have a right to control their followers, but they DO NOT have a right to control the greater population, not even through votes rallied by their preachers to their followers telling them how to vote.

AMA opposes ‘don’t ask, don’t tell;’ says gay marriage bans contribute to health disparities

The American Medical Association on Tuesday voted to oppose the military’s ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy, and declared that gay marriage bans contribute to health disparities.

The nation’s largest doctors’ group stopped short of saying it would seek to overturn marriage bans, but its new stance angered conservative activists and provides a fresh boost to lobbying efforts by gay-rights advocates.

“It’s highly significant that the AMA as one of this country’s leading professional associations has taken a position on both of these issues,” said Rea Carey, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, a Washington-based advocacy group.

The health disparities measure “in the long run, will certainly help efforts to win marriage equality,” Carey said.

Whether the AMA’s lobbying power will hasten efforts to overturn the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ law remains to be seen. President Barack Obama has said he is working with congressional leaders to end the policy, and the AMA’s stance will likely help, although gay rights issues have been upstaged by Obama’s health care overhaul battle.

The AMA’s vote took place at the group’s interim policy-making meeting in Houston, a day after AMA delegates voted to affirm their support for health reform.

The health disparities policy is based on evidence showing that married couples are more likely to have health insurance, and that the uninsured have a high risk for “living sicker and dying younger,” said Dr. Peter Carmel, an AMA board member. [read more]

After Maine Gay Marriage Inaction, Bloggers Call for Boycott of DNC

Time to stand up and fight back people!  Wake  up!  Especially you gay people do may not want to get married at least fight for those of us who do!  We’re in this together, one fight doesn’t out weight another!  We must stand up and fight back!

Remember your history, or at least learn something of it!  The church did not invent civil marriage, it’s an inherited Pagan practice of civil law of which all citizens should be treated equally!  Time to stop the church form imposing religious rule.

They allege Gay Marriage is immoral, yet they disregard all their divorces which is a definitely immoral.  Gay Marriage is about love, and love is not immoral!

After Maine Gay Marriage Inaction, Bloggers Call for Boycott of DNC

John Aravosis and Joe Subday of AMERICAblog, two bloggers who frequently cover gay rights issues, have announced that they and a handful of other gay activists and liberal bloggers are organizing a boycott of the Democratic National Committee and Organizing for America (what has become of Obama’s campaign apparatus, now led by the DNC) until President Obama puts his political weight behind moving their key issues through Congress–namely, repeals of “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the Defense of Marriage Act, and passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. WWII Veteran Speaks for Gay Marriage

As a veteran I agree!  I during my time serving I know I served for Freedom, Justice and Equality for all people.  My service time didn’t excent to and conflict, but non the less I volunteered because I’m a patriot who believes in what the Statue of Liberty and the Constitution of the United States represent, and that includes the Gay community who deserve the same equal rights as any other American citizen.

My father also joined the military during WWII all while his brothers, sisters, and father were taken to concentration camps in northern California.  He faught in battles on the French Italian boarder helping our allies keep the Nazi’s at out of these countries for the cause of Freedom, Justice and  Equality for all.  His unit battalion the 442nd became the most decorated unit of all time, and he had to come home to see discrimination pushed on people by the likes or religious fanatic dogma emposing their religiuos laws on the rest of American society.

Keep your religious laws to you own community!  Civil laws belong to the greater people, and they are not their for  you to divide the country up piece by piece just because you may not like a specific group of people like the LGBT community and their friends.

We’ll probably have to start the draft because those same people who live in freed because of Our Soldiers and Veterans do not service to help fight for freedom and justice for all, but they take advantage to what our soldiers have done, and are doing right now.

Draft those conservatives children, and send them off to these wars, so they to will know what democracy is.

Philip Spooner VIDEO: WWII Veteran Makes Case For Gay Marriage

Philip Spooner is a lifetime Republican, World War II veteran and, to everyone’s surprise, a gay marriage supporter. The 86-year-old gave a heartfelt speech in support of gay marriage to Maine’s Judiciary Committee back in April, and the video has just now become an internet hit.

Spooner’s voice wavers often as he weaves his own life story into the speech, using his experience as a soldier as his main defense for gay marriage. He lists his accomplishments in the war, among them serving in Patton’s Third Army and carrying POWs back home, making it clear that he’s a true American — and according to Spooner, there’s nothing more American than fighting for equality. Traditional Religious Marriage Practices vs Civil Marriage Laws

This is sick some tradition!  We’re in America now, it’s okay to release yourself from your traditions in a progressive society, especially if your harming other people with your dogmatic tradtions!

It amazes me how these Christian’s hang on to their so called traditions in the name of their traditions!  These traditions should be abolished, they should get married on their own recognizance and the rest of use shouldn’t be forced to subsides their welfare needs.  We should all pay equal taxes, and if we pay equal taxes then we should all receive equal benefits, if we don’t receive equal  benefits then it’s called welfare, and this has been going on for far to long.  Just obolish this religious marriage traditon of taking on wives because it’s your religious tradition.

Besides, this world is to over crowded, theirs no need to have a religious marriage or “holy matrimony” with your children!  Sick!  They’ll throw any page of the bible at us to justify their needs.  They say it’s “gods” will!  Amazing!

What about those Mormons?

We need to Protect Civil Marriage from these religious social conservative who force their own religious traditional marriage practices on our civil laws and our constitutions, all while the rest of us have to subsidize their marriage practices.  Civil marriage should be granted to all loving committed couples under civil laws, not religious laws or these religious zealots will take our children for marriage to.

Girl ‘married’ at 8 says Alamo found her ‘cute’

A woman who said evangelist Tony Alamo “married” her when she was 8 years old told federal jurors Thursday that he sexually assaulted her repeatedly until she dodged security cameras and roving guards to escape from his compound in 2006.

Her testimony came after another former underage bride of Alamo said she “married” the pastor at 14 through hurried whispers during visiting hours at a federal prison. That woman later noted inside a Bible the date Alamo first forced her to have sex, but left the name blank out of fear Alamo would beat her.

Alamo, 74, is named in a 10-count indictment alleging he took young girls across state lines for sex. His lawyers said the girls were moved so they could do legitimate work for the ministry, and claim the government has targeted him. He has pleaded not guilty and could spend the rest of his life in prison if convicted.

Defense lawyers largely left the sex and underage marriage claims unchallenged, though they questioned witnesses’ memories and whether they had been coached by authorities. Several jurors appeared affected by the testimony, wiping at their red eyes. One man slowly shook his head “no” during particularly graphic testimony.

The 8-year-old bride, now 18, said Alamo groped her after their wedding and began having sex with her when she was a 9-year-old third-grader.

Keep Religion or Religious Views Out of Politics and Propositions Put Out for Votes!

I’m so glad that more people are seeing the truth and talking about it!

I’ve been saying people use the bible to attack gay’s for the past fifteen years, and it’s why religion should stay out of politics in America!  These Christian’s are not respecting our common understanding of “separation of church and state,” and many of them are trying to change our laws and our constitutions to favor their misinterpreted religious beliefs or in this day the New Age Bibles that are rewritten with words that didn’t even exists or have the same meaning during the time the bible was written in classical Greek or Aramaic.

It’s happened in California, first with fear tactics to get enough votes for Prop 8, and who knows how many lies the Mormons told the people on the other side of the phone during their phone banking the Mormon Fatwa.

CHINA’S REAL COMING OUT PARTY!

Many have said that the 2008 Olympics in Beijing were China’s coming out party to the world. I wanted to let you know about China’s real coming out party. This posting about China’s June gay pride parade in Shanghai is not meant to insult the Chinese nation or anyone else, it is actually meant to praise China for the advancement of social liberty and freedom seen this year in Shanghai. Although many out there can argue whether or not the existence of a LBGT (Lesbian Bisexual Gay Transgender) community in China is advancement, no one can argue with the fact that a community such as this receiving greater freedom and tolerance is a sign of the Chinese government loosening control over individual rights. I would like to put aside the issue of homosexuality itself for the moment and focus on the fight for homosexual rights as one among many fights for individual rights, which can be seen as a clear indicator of a nation’s progressiveness. This couldn’t be truer than in Shanghai this year, where they had a successful gay pride parade without even having an actual parade. Organizers are hoping to have a successful gay pride non-parade in Beijing in 2010. For those who think this is an underground event the government doesn’t really know about, they can find details of this year’s gay pride event in China’s state run media outlets. We can see here that the stories on Shanghai’s gay pride event in China’s controlled media are a show of pride by China itself.

[Read more; good read about China's coming out, though, I hope they wake up about other issues]

Civil Marriage is NOT traditional to the Church, those are lies

I don’t know why people think heterosexual marriage is “traditional” and homosexual marriage is “new?”

There are documents proving same-sex unions, and I’m sure many of those were destroyed when the church started to persecute just about everybody in order to take their property from them.

Civil marriage is for legal purposes, if  your need a religious marriage then have a religious marriage, but it doesn’t require a civil marriage.  It’s only evolved to the point that people get a civil marriage because it provides the two individual legal rights under civil laws.

I’ve hear so many silly arguments that claim and alleged that “marriage” is for heterosexual only.  Some say because of children, but what does a peace of paper have to do with having children?  Sure, if you need legal documents proving your heirs then yes, get a civil marriage because that’s what it was made for.

The Pagan people invented civil marriage, the church try’s to rewrite history alleging that it’s their invention when they only adopted the practice hundreds of years later.  It’s sole purpose is for civil law, not religious law, and it proved property rights and heirs.  This is the same way we use civil marriage today.  You don’t have to have children to get married, in fact many people get married and don’t want children or adopt because they can’t have any of their own, or just want to adopt because it’s the right thing to do.

Marriage was traditionally a marriage just by stating you were married because just to get married you don’t need a document to say it.  If you need a document to prove your relationship for legal purposes then you get a civil marriage license because it’s their to prove your property rights and heirs and today along with many other legal purposes.

The lies people use to attack the Gay community is traditionally a church practice and they’ve done a very good job of lying to the people in order to have some one to attack when they or the church needs people to attack.  Disregard your own indiscretions just attack Gay people, and that is the tradition of the church, it’s constant lies.

Some alleged it was Adam and eve, well in those day’s they didn’t civil office to get a marriage license because they didn’t need it.  They were married just by stating it, and they had nothing so they didn’t need any legal document like a civil marriage license to prove anything.

There all religious excuses and dogmatic views hiding the truth.

A Letter to the President from Joe Solmonese

June 15, 2009 2:27PM
Joe Solmonese

Ed. Note: This morning HRC President Joe Solmonese sent a letter to President Barack Obama responding to the administration’s brief that argues for the Defense of Marriage Act to be upheld in court.  The letter follows and is available in PDF:

June 15, 2009

President Barack H. Obama
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW
Washington, DC 20500

Dear Mr. President:

I have had the privilege of meeting you on several occasions, when visiting the White House in my capacity as president of the Human Rights Campaign, a civil rights organization representing millions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people across this country.  You have welcomed me to the White House to express my community’s views on health care, employment discrimination, hate violence, the need for diversity on the bench, and other pressing issues.  Last week, when your administration filed a brief defending the constitutionality of the so-called “Defense of Marriage Act,”[1] I realized that although I and other LGBT leaders have introduced ourselves to you as policy makers, we clearly have not been heard, and seen, as what we also are: human beings whose lives, loves, and families are equal to yours.  I know this because this brief would not have seen the light of day if someone in your administration who truly recognized our humanity and equality had weighed in with you.

So on behalf of my organization and millions of LGBT people who are smarting in the aftermath of reading that brief, allow me to reintroduce us.   You might have heard of Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon. They waited 55 years for the state of California to recognize their legal right to marry.  When the California Supreme Court at last recognized that right, the octogenarians became the first couple to marry.  Del died after the couple had been legally married for only two months.  And about two months later, their fellow Californians voted for Proposition 8.

Stop Defending DOMA!

I couldn’t believe he’s supporting DOMA, or at least his attorney is pushing in support of it.

I find it ironic that people who are against alleged “socialism” would support DOMA because it excludes the Gay Population.  Sounds like typical bigotry to me.  If you don’t like Social Security then you should be fighting against that, not supporting DOMA!

Since we have this social security system, then all American’s should benefit from it otherwise get rid of it completely.

Gay people pay taxes, and they don’t get any breaks on it with their own family’s because they happen to be Gay.  Why should Gay people subsidize all these other peoples civil marriages, yet can’t have one themselves?

Civil marriage is about property rights and heirs, it’s not about some religious dogma, so get over it!

Tell Obama and Holder: Stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

Tell Obama and Holder: Stop defending the Defense of Marriage Act.

They compared same-sex marriage to a marriage between an uncle and a niece. Or between two children.

No, we’re not talking about Rick Santorum. We’re talking about the Obama administration’s Justice Department. The brief the DOJ presented defending the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in federal court was not just wrong. It was offensive. The New York Times called it “disturbing” in its lead editorial.

Rachel Maddow and Howard Dean discussed the issue on MSNBC on June 15. Take a look: [sign the petition]

Come Out! Come Out, where ever you are!!!

For every action there is a reaction!  Come Out!  Come Out, where ever you are!!!

I don’t see how the Judges could see any equality in their decision, but unfortunately it’s already done, and we must move forward remembering what and who brought us here!  I think this is a BIG wake up call, and every can see it.  I think the root cause is very obvious.

Gavin Newsom: The Road from Here to Marriage Equality

Today we must turn anger into action.

It’s cold comfort to many that history is moving in the right direction, with five states already on their way to marriage equality. But it’s our job to make sure history moves faster towards equality here in California.

We must redouble our efforts in California to finally win this fight for equal rights. Please, take a moment today and lend your voice to this just cause.

Sign our petition for marriage equality.

Join the tireless efforts of the Courage Campaign and Equality California.

Let’s be respectful. But let’s be clear. We must start changing minds today. I know many of my fellow Californians may initially agree with this ruling, but I ask them to reserve final judgment until they have discussed this decision with someone who will be affected by it. [read more]

Sign the petition to President Obama

There have always been Gay people serving their country!  The should be able to serve without being discriminated.  Other in the military don’t care if there comrade is Gay, the problem is the people in the Pentagon.  It’s a waste of tax payer dollars to be discharging good educated soldiers from doing their duty.   “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is just silly childish rule!

Courage Campaign | Sign the petition to President Obama

Keep your promise, President Obama
Tell the President to end the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy and not to fire Lt. Dan Choi

Lt. Dan Choi, from Orange County, California, is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an Iraq War veteran. Last March he went on Rachel Maddow’s show and spoke three truthful words: “I am gay.”

As a result Lt. Choi received a letter from the Army on April 23 discharging him for violating the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. He told Rachel Maddow the letter was “a slap in the face” to himself and the soldiers he as commanded and served with over the past decade.

Lt. Choi is fighting to stay in the military and ensure that no other soldier is ever again discharged as a result of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” The Courage Campaign and CREDO Mobile are joining his effort to secure equality in our armed forces.

President Obama did not create this policy. But he now has the opportunity to keep his promise and allow gay and lesbian soldiers to serve openly in the military. It’s the right thing to do — for justice and for national security.
104,722 people (as of Monday, May 18) have signed the following petition to President Obama from the Courage Campaign and CREDO Mobile. Please add your name now:

Are Topless Photos Biblically Correct …

Oh!  OMG!  Praise the Lord!

She’s trashing others because she alleges Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her Christian belief.  Yet, I know for a fact that posing in pornography is defiantly against Christian tradition.  The bible tells me that a women should be fully covered.

Don’t get me wrong, Carrie Prejean can do all the pornography she wants, we don’t really care and we shouldn’t [it's her life], however preaching to us Californian’s and the rest of America that Same-Sex Civil Marriage is against her “traditional” Christian practice and that it shouldn’t be allowed for Same-Sex Couples is hypocritical.

Don’t trash people when you need to take your own trash out the door!  That’s the way it is.  Respect others and you will be respected, but trashing others, hay, Karma’s a Bitch!

IMAGINE NO RELIGION WOMEN’S FITTED BASEBALL TEE
This is just a thought to ponder [thanks to those who use religion to attack others], I’m not saying get rid of religion. I’ve had hate comments just for having this t-shirt, and I’m sure I’ll have more! I believe in freedom of religion, but those religions need to repsect other religions, you know who you are.  These people attacking other’s by calling them various names and devil worshipers or Pagan’s [as if that is wrong] or attacking other people outside their circle, like Carrie Prejean has done is wrong!  So, this is why we have this though to ponder; imagine no religion.  Your religion belongs to you and your inner circle, it doesn’t belong to the rest of us, so people need to keep it in their inner circle.  Those religions should stop attacking other people!
